Psalm 90:9

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

Life - a tale that is in God's eyes already told. God knows the hairs on our heads, the number of our days, the appointed hour of our death.

As an author and reader, I love a good tale and who better to write your life script. That is not to say that we don't have choice and free will. We do. It is just simply that the author, God already knows the choices we will make and the consequences.

The challenge for us is to live out the tale with hope and faith in the promises of God. The challenge is to find your purpose, which is not necessarily fixed, but mercurial, changing as we change, with age, knowledge, and circumstance. The challenge is to live out our days with faith, joy and peace.

            And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden ; and there he put the man whom he had formed. (Genesis 2:7-8)

            And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims , and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way to the tree of life. (Genesis 3:22-24)

            He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)
