Ms. Toliver was born in Houston and grew up in Waco, Texas. She credits God for the talent; her family and educators for fostering her love for reading and creative writing. After graduating from Richfield High School, Ms. Toliver earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. She has enjoyed a varied career as an engineer, environmental consultant, educator and author. Ms. Toliver is single and the parent of one son. She currently resides in Orange, Texas.
